The exotic town of El Remate by the shore of Lake Petén Itzá in the middle of the Guatemalan Rainforest, on the way to the Mayan archeological site Tikal, is home to a friendly community of artisans dedicated to creating beautiful hand-carved pieces of decoration made of wood that comes from sustainable forestry practices.

The mortar and pestle are used every day in the local and exotic cuisine of Petén, now a beautiful Hormigo Wood vessel for our hand-poured luxury soy wax candle. When the wick burns out you will have a beautiful hand-painted piece of art.

Our Achiote Scented Candles are hand-poured using 100% soy wax, infused with essential oils, and lit with cotton wicks. Our materials are phthalate-free, gmo-free and lead-free.
